Getting started

Installing takes a minute. You need the Manage Server permission in the server you add it to.

  1. 1 Add Guaca Invite it and keep every permission.
  2. 2 Move its role up Above every role it hands out.
  3. 3 What you get Defaults, a starter shop, nothing noisy.
  4. 4 Your first hour Eight things worth setting.

1. Add Guaca to your server

Press the button, pick your server, and keep every permission ticked. Discord registers the slash commands at the same time.

The permissions it asks for

Guaca never asks for Administrator. Every permission is scoped to something it does:

PermissionWhy
View ChannelsTo see the channels it answers and watches.
Send MessagesWelcome posts, level-ups, giveaways, starboard, announcements.
Embed LinksRich replies and link buttons.
Attach FilesPlaying cards, farm cards, welcome and announcement banners are attached images.
Read Message HistoryPurge, and the starboard re-reading a message to count its reactions.
Mention @everyone, @here and All RolesOnly for announcements you set to ping @everyone, @here or a role.
Use External EmojisCustom emoji in replies, such as the slot symbols a server picks.
Add ReactionsAuto-reactions in the channels you pick.
ConnectVoice XP counts minutes in a channel. It never speaks.
Manage RolesShop items, level rewards, colours, role menus and tournament roles all grant roles.
Manage MessagesPurge, and automod deleting a message it caught.
Timeout MembersTimeouts, the least destructive real moderation action.
Kick Members/kick, and automod escalation set to kick.
Ban Members/ban and /unban, and automod escalation set to ban.
Added Guaca before September 2026? Your invite did not include Mention @everyone. Announcements that ping @everyone, @here or a role will fail until you give the Guaca role that permission in Server Settings → Roles, or in the announcement channel’s permissions.

2. Move the Guaca role up

Discord only lets a bot give, take or moderate roles below its own. In Server Settings → Roles, drag the Guaca role above:

  • every role a shop item, level reward, colour, role menu or tournament hands out;
  • the top role of anyone moderators should be able to warn, time out, kick or ban with Guaca.

Moderation commands and role menus check this and tell you when a role is out of reach. If Discord refuses a role bought in the shop, Guaca tries again a few more times, so moving the role up soon afterwards still delivers it.

Channel permissions matter too. Where Guaca should post, it needs Send Messages and Embed Links; Attach Files for banners and cards; Read Message History in channels the starboard watches; Add Reactions where you set auto-reactions.

Server Settings → Roles

  1. Admin above Guaca: it cannot touch this role
  2. Guaca APP Guaca’s own role
  3. Members people Guaca can time out or ban
  4. Avocado Green a shop item
  5. Veteran a level 10 reward
  6. Players a role menu button
  7. @everyone
Drag the Guaca role above everything it should manage. The ticks are roles it can give, take or moderate; the cross is one it cannot.

3. What happens when it joins

  • It posts nothing. Your server gets default settings, and every noisy module starts switched off.
  • Every member starts with 500 in the bank the first time they use it (Dashboard → Server → starting balance).
  • The shop gets two starter items: a Streak Shield (3,000) that saves a missed /daily, and an Extra Chip (400) that clears your game cooldowns when you /use it. Rename, reprice or delete them.
  • Games, income commands and leveling are on; automod has sensible filters prepared but is off.

4. Your first hour

  1. Pick the economy channels. /config channel-add #channel for each one, or Dashboard → Server. Until you add one, economy commands and games work in every channel. Which commands this covers.
  2. Set the server clock. Dashboard → Server → time zone. It decides when /daily resets, which day a birthday falls on, when the farm day turns over, and the times you type for announcements.
  3. Choose a mod-log channel. /config mod-log #channel. Every moderation case is posted there.
  4. Welcome new members. /config welcome #channel, or Dashboard → Moderation for the banner image.
  5. Fill the shop. Dashboard → Shop items. Two starter items are already there. How items work.
  6. Add level rewards and a level-up channel. Dashboard → Leveling. How leveling works.
  7. Turn on automod. /automod on, then /automod show to check the filters. What each filter catches.
  8. Optional extras: the starboard (/config starboard), birthdays (/config birthday-channel), voice XP and chat money (Dashboard → Leveling), and farms.

The dashboard

Sign in with Discord at bot.aguacatech.io/dashboard. You will see every server where you are the owner or have Manage Server, and Guaca is a member.

  • Access is worked out when you sign in. After someone gains or loses Manage Server, they sign out and in again for the dashboard to notice.
  • Removing Guaca from a server closes its dashboard for everyone. The data is kept: add Guaca back and sign in again to pick up where you left off.

Who can run which command

Each command comes with a default Discord permission: /ban needs Ban Members, /config needs Manage Server, /balance needs nothing. The command reference lists them all.

To change who sees a command, or in which channels, use Server Settings → Integrations → Guaca. That is the whole permission system: Guaca does not keep a second one of its own. The one exception is /torneo, whose organiser subcommands check for Manage Server or Administrator themselves.

Troubleshooting

“That command only works in #channel”

The server has an economy channel allowlist, and the reply names the channels. Use the command in one of them. Admins can check the list with /config channels.

A role was not given

Almost always role order: the role sits above Guaca’s. Move the Guaca role up. Also check that the role is not one Discord manages itself, such as a booster or another bot’s role.

A command is missing from the picker

Discord hides commands you lack the permission for. Check Server Settings → Integrations → Guaca for overrides on your role or the channel. A freshly added bot can also need a client restart (Ctrl+R) before its commands appear.

An announcement did not ping anyone

Guaca needs Mention @everyone, @here and All Roles in that channel. /anuncio lista shows announcements that failed and why.

Automod does nothing

It starts switched off: run /automod on. It also skips exempt channels and roles (Dashboard → Moderation), and it needs Manage Messages to delete what it catches.
