Tournaments

Guaca handles check-in on Discord for tournaments run on torneos.aguacatech.io. The roster, brackets and sign-ups live there; Guaca lets players confirm they are here, links their Discord account to their registration, and gives them the tournament role.

Setting a tournament up

  1. On the tournament’s page in the tournaments app, an organiser picks the Discord check-in channel, and optionally the tournament role.
  2. In that channel, /torneo panel posts the public check-in panel with Confirm and Drop buttons and a running count.
  3. /torneo sync matches the server’s members to the roster by name and hands out the role to everyone it can match.

/torneo only works in a linked channel. Anywhere else it explains that the channel is not linked to a tournament rather than guessing which one you meant.

For players

  • /torneo link connects your Discord account to your registration, picked from a list of unclaimed names, and gives you the tournament role. Not on the roster yet? The reply sends you to the sign-up page.
  • /torneo attend or the panel’s Confirm button checks you in; /torneo drop or Drop takes it back. If your Discord name matches an unclaimed registration, pressing Confirm links you as well.
  • /torneo status shows how many have checked in and how many are linked to Discord.

For organisers

Players and organisers use the same command, so the organiser subcommands check permissions themselves: they need Manage Server or Administrator.

  • panel posts the check-in panel; it redraws only when something changed.
  • mark marks a player present or absent by hand.
  • sync matches members to the roster and gives out the role; role-clear takes the role back from everyone after the event.
The tournament role must be a plain role below Guaca’s own. A role with moderation or admin permissions is refused, so a tournament can never hand out power.
